“I felt a calling
to spread
the word to
communities
that needed
it more.”
Kurtis’s Story
Meet Kurtis, a College graduate
who returned to his hometown of
Edmonton, Canada after graduating to
spread the College’s vitalistic approach
to chiropractic across the world.
Taking Chiropractic To The World
Now back home and working as an established
chiropractor at a local Edmonton practice, Kurtis
says he feels driven to share as much of his
learnings from New Zealand with the rest of the
world as possible.
“I’m on a mission to create the same chiropractic
community over here that I loved so much in
New Zealand.”
He believes the College’s unique academic
programme and approach to chiropractic warrants
a worldwide movement and it was this belief that
drove him to leave New Zealand.
They are tough tests, but the College’s academic
programme prepares students well for them.Kurtis
says students and teachers alike went out of their
way to support Canadian students taking the
Board exams.
“From out-of-hours meetings, to student study
groups, the College went above and beyond to
support those of us preparing for the tests.”
He believes the culture and sense of calm at the
school helps students to feel less 昀氀ustered going
into the exams. “The people at the New Zealand
College of Chiropractic go above and beyond to
make sure everyone succeeds, which I think
is amazing.”
His advice to other Canadian students considering
the move to New Zealand to study chiropractic
is to “go to the New Zealand College of
Chiropractic, have fun, work hard and have your
life forever changed”.
Preparing To Practise In Canada
Practising in Canada wasn’t as simple as hopping
on a plane and accepting a local job. To be
registered to practise in Canada, students must
pass the Canadian Chiropractic Board Exams.
