“Putting all that
we have learnt
into practice and
watching it all
come together
is amazing.”
Jinni’s Story
Meet Jinni, a 昀椀fth-year student
keen to educate the public and
expand their awareness of the
bene昀椀ts of chiropractic care.
A Young Convert
Jinni became sold on the many bene昀椀ts of
chiropractic care during childhood. Suffering
from asthma and breathing issues, her parents
took her to a local chiropractor for support.
She initially considered a career in veterinary
care, but when she overheard a discussion
about chiropractic for animals at her high
school, she saw an opportunity to marry
together her passions for natural health
and animals.
From A Number To A Name
Having completed some foundation papers at
another university, Jinni noticed a signi昀椀cant
cultural change upon arriving at the NZCC.
“I went from being given an ID number, to
being known by name.” She says the smaller
class sizes and ability to connect one-on-one
with lecturers makes the NZCC feel like a
family, this family feel being indicative of the
wider chiropractic community. “My advice is to
reach out to a local chiropractor and see what
insights they can share with you.”
Taking Chiropractic To The Community
One of the highlights of Jinni’s NZCC
experience has been her time working in the
NZCC’s Chiropractic Centre, where she’s been
supporting members of the public with their
wellbeing needs during her fourth and 昀椀fth
years.
She also enjoys running community events
to educate the public about the bene昀椀ts of
chiropractic.
Bringing Her Learning Full Circle
After graduating, Jinni intends to work
for a couple of years before travelling
overseas to expand her learning and
experience, taking advantage of the many
international opportunities available, eventually
returning home to New Zealand to establish
her own chiropractic practice, combining
her passion for people and animals towards
more holistic healthcare approaches that can
improve the quality of life for themselves and
their families.”
